The name is a Latin word for "help." Specifically, it comes from Psalm 70:1, "O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me." I intend, in this blog, to write about this short prayer as a way of continual prayer, and about memorizing and frequently praying the Beati, Psalm 119. These are Celtic Christian ways to "pray always." I will also touch on whatever other topics strike my fancy.
I have been a member of the Celtic Catholic Church since 1981, a priest since 1994. I try to find ways to walk in and learn from "the old ways" of my Celtic Christian tradition and the larger Church; but I am not interested in tradition for the sake of antiquarianism. Our Faith must be authentic to our present lives. After all, why be Christians if we don't have real needs right now that need help? I just believe that many times the help is found in age-old wisdom.
